It is with great sadness that we must announce the closing of our doors Friday June 2nd , 2023.
For the last 59 years we were a staple here in Palatine. Charles Schnackel started the company in
June 1964. With his passing in December 2011, his youngest son, Chris Schnackel, took over the
business. Sadly, Chris passed away March 1st , 2023. With no other family members to continue the legacy, the economy, and other factors, we came to the hard decision that it was time to say goodbye.
We wish to thank all of you, our loyal and longtime customers. We wish you all the best!

Charles Schnackel, Sr. started Palatine Heating & Cooling Company of Palatine, IL in June of 1964. The company has been offering quality service in Palatine and the surrounding suburbs ever since. Charles Sr. has two sons working with him learning the family business. The oldest son, Chuck Jr. started in the late 1970s working for the company. The younger son, Chris started in the mid-1980s. Charles taught both sons all areas of the business: service, installs, outside sales, to the office end of things. In December of 2011, Charles Schnackel, Sr. passed away leaving the family business to his sons. Today they are applying what their father taught them along with the latest technology to continue bringing their customers the best in quality service and home comfort.
